What about gender roles?

Sometimes, we tend to assign specific traits and roles to girls and guys based solely on their gender, kind of limiting what they can or have to be or do. Some stereotypes keep spreading harmful ideas and end up making unfair actions seem okay, which adds to the acceptance of inequalities and unjust behaviours. 

So much of what we understand about the world is shaped by games, movies, music and other forms of entertainment.  

Have you noticed that many games, movies, and music videos often focus on romantic or sexual relationships? Unfortunately, they can sometimes reinforce gender stereotypes and discrimination, make abuse seem normal, and overlook a crucial aspect of real-life relationships: consent. Would you be able to see this in your favourite game, movie or music video? 

Real-life relationships are much more diverse and have the potential to be far more fulfilling than the narrow representations we often see on our screens!
